I’m hoping to go into the medical career, which means even more college than normal and I was wondering if there were any scholarships out there that I could use. I’ve applied for many already and I’m retaking both the SAT and the ACT to get higher scores for better scholarship chances.

If anyone reads my posts and they know of a good scholarship that I can apply to, write an essay for, or whatever, please let me know. I have to pay for all of my schooling (my parents won’t help me out).

This is a desperate plea from a desperate high school senior.

I believe that because of Facebook, Myspace, Twitter, WordPress, and various other social networks, the next generation is going to stay more connected. While we will still drift apart from our high school and college friends and make new friends along the path of life, I feel like the connections that are made will somehow make the world smaller and closer nit.

I’m interested to see how the next generations progress in the realm of social networking.

First and foremost, our economy. It has been radically declining into a spiral abyss of hell and it doesn’t look as if it’s getting any better. Supposedly we’re getting “out” of the economic crisis by failed stimulus packages and promises of more jobs and better ways to operate things, more and more jobs are going overseas. Why? Because President Obama and his little rascal friends are refusing to do anything drastic. Why is he restricting companies from doing what they have to do to get more jobs and workers? Because of “Global Warming”. We have to be “environmentally safe” in how we do things. Thus, it costs more for companies to do less. They aren’t meeting the “Global Warming Demands from Hell” and therefore it is cheaper and easier to send all of our jobs overseas. Don’t believe me? I see it happening in my own home with the Ford Motor Company.

Branching from that, the environmental crisis. This was a clever ruse invented by Al Gore and kept up with all his little buddies. Do you see him cutting down on his electricity? No. Do you see him NOT jet-setting around the country in his own private plane that could fit much more than himself and the Environment Brigade. No, I don’t hate the Earth. In fact, I am inclined to call it home, and do love living here. However I believe that it is terribly presumptuous to think that we could dent the planet in any way shape or form. Heck, we can’t even predict the weather half the time. But we think we can “save” the planet? In the words of George Carlin, the planet will shake us off like a surface nuisance.

Look at it this way: plants, who emit our precious O2 gas are polluting the Earth, no? An ungodly time ago, the planet had little to no oxygen in its atmosphere, instead there was CO2 and various other gases that we would not be able to breathe. It was polluting the Earth. So now we claim that the CO2 that we put into the air is going to affect the planet? We’re just making way for the next generation of creatures. It’s just that Oxygen is helpful to us, so therefore we have a greater sense that because we are “superior beings” that we can 1) Protect our poor defenseless planet and 2) Everything put on the Earth was meant for us. We’re just here borrowing it, so to speak.

Now don’t take me as being hypocritical or blasphemous and go pointing fingers around; but we’re only here to pass on our genes to the next generation and maybe even evolve into something else when the time comes. We’re barely a blink in time, and in the grand scheme of things we’re already gone.

On a happier note, we haven’t managed to kill ourselves yet as a race and we are surviving the Obama administration adequately. 2010 has all the hopes and expectations of 2009 (take that how you want to) and maybe we’ll be able to accomplish some great things and fix our current political problems.
